Roman policier 1/2
Message de jammy posté le 15-05-2005 à 20:40:52 (S | E | F | I)

Salut!
A bientôt!

Bonsoir Jammy

I wondered if I was to the good address. People like me lack of certitude when their secretary isn't near them.
At least, the door opened.
- Mrs Florian ?
- Yes, I am but I buy nothing, it's not necessary to try
- Mrs Florian, I don't want you to sell anything. Let's me explain to you. I'm a detective. I need some information. Can you see what I want to say ?.
I had asked her this question because she stared at me strangely.
- Mike hasn't done anything wrong again, has he?
- No, He hasn't. I research a girl named Val. She worked in the shop of your late husband, two years ago. That's all I know and I went to ask you more informations.
- Come in. I just made me some tea, Would you want some ? Or, the police never drinks some tea ?
- Thanks but as I told you before, I'm not a policeman. Val's parents pay for this job.

- J'implore ta clémence pour ta correction

Bonsoir jammy.

I was wondering whether I was at the right place or not. People like me lack of confidence when their secretary isn't by their side.
The door opened at last.
- 'Madame Florian?
- I am Madame Florian, but I don't want to buy anything, it isn't worth trying.
- Madame Florian, I have nothing to sell. Let me explain. I am a detective. I need information. Do you see what I mean?'
I had asked her that question because she was staring at me in /a weird way/an unusual way/
- 'Mike hasn't done anything wrong again, has he?
- No, of course not. I am looking for a girl called Val. Two years ago she was working in your late husband's shop. It's all I know and I've come to ask you for more information.
- Come in. I was just having a cup of tea ready for me, would you like some?... Police people never drink tea, maybe?
- Thank you, but as I told you before I am not from the police. Val's parents are paying for the job.

I was wondering whether I was at the correct address. People like me feel a lack of conviction when their secretary is not at their side.
Finally the door opened.
- Mrs Florian ?
- Yes, but I don't buy anything. Don't go to a lot of trouble to try…
- Mrs Florian, I want to sell you nothing. Let me explain you. I am a detective. I need some information. Do you see what I mean ?
I asked her because she was staring at me strangely.
- Mike hasn't done anything wrong again, has he ?
- No, no. I'm looking for a girl, named Val. She was working on your late husband's shop, two years ago. I don't know anything else, that's why I'm asking you more information.
- Come in. I was making tea. Do you want some ? Or do policemen never drink tea?
- Thanks, but as I've already told you, I'm not a policeman. Val's parents are paying for this work.

I was wondering if I was at the right place. People like me are short of insurance when their secretary isn’t by their side.
At last the door opened.
Madam Florian?
- Yes,I'm but I'm not buying anything, you needn’t bother to try
- Madam Florian, I am not a seller. Let me explain. I am a detective. I need some information. You see what I mean?
I asked her this question because she was queerly staring at me.
I hope Mike hasn’t do anything wrong again? Has he?
- no, no. I am looking for a girl called Val. She was working, two years ago in your late husband’s shop. I don’t know anything else, and I am here to ask you for more information.
- Come in. I was preparing some tea, do you want a cup? Or do the policemen never drink tea?
- thank you, but as I have told you previously I am not a policeman. Val’s parents are paying for this job.

oh, la, la!
merci jammy: 'lack confidence!'
Allez, un travail supplémentaire: ça m'apprendra!
* Verbe 'to lack':
- We lacked helpers
- He lacks experience
- They lack water
- She lacks sleep (sure!)
- We lack the last figures
- You lack nothing

* Substantif:
- A lack of judgement
- A lack of money
- A lack of power
- She is tired from a lack of sleep

=> Voilà comment pourquoi je me suis fait piéger!
=> People (like me) lack confidence (verbe 'manquer de')
=> He won't get the job because of his lack of experience (..à cause de son manque /défaut/ d'expérience)

I was wondering if I was at the right address. People like me lack confidence when their secretary is not at their side.
The door finally opened.
“Are you Mrs Florian?”
“Yes I am, but I am not buying anything, it’s no use trying…
“Mrs Florian, I am not selling you anything. Let me explain. I’m a detective. I need some information. Do you understand what I mean?
I had asked her that question for she was staring at me strangely.
“Mike hasn’t done something wrong again, has he?”
“No, no. I am looking for a girl called Val. She used to work in your late husband’s shop, two years ago. That’s all I know, and I have come to ask you for more information.
“Come in. I was just making tea; do you want some? Or do the police never drink tea?”
“Thank you but as I've told you before I'm not a policeman. Val’s parents are paying for that job.

Salut Jammy !

Comme prévu, before mercredi.

I was wondering if I was at the right place. People like me lack assurance when their secretary is not by their side (is away).
At last, the door opened.
- Mrs. Florian?
- Yes, but I buy nothing, no need trying.......
- Mrs. Florian, I don’t want to sell you anything. Let me explain to you. I’m a detective. And I need some information. Can you get what I mean?
I asked her that as she was staring at me with a queer look.
- Mike did nothing bad again, did he?
- No, no.....I’m looking for a girl whose name’s Val. She worked in your late husband’s shop two years ago. This is all I know, and I came to ask you for more information.
- Come in. I was making myself tea at this very moment, do you want some? Or maybe policemen never drink tea?
- Thank you. But as I told you before, I’m not a policeman. Val’s parents are paying for this job.

Voilà ! Super intéressant !

Merci !

Tu as déjà corrigé ?

A bientôt !

I've told you before I amn’t a policeman.

si mes souvenirs sont bons on doit dire.............I ain't a policeman
