Je marie mon fils à l’église samedi prochain:
- Next saturday, I'm going to my son's wedding followed by a church service.
J’ai marié mon fils à hôtel de ville samedi dernier:
- Last saturday, I went to my son's wedding at the town hall.

This isn't quite true. I can say that I married Miss Muffet (now Mrs. Muffet-Kidd LOL) and that she married me. But I can also say that the priest married us.
Parents do not marry their children, but a father does "give his daughter away" in marriage. Usually, the bride walks in with her father. The priest (or whoever is marrying the couple) says "Who gives this woman to be wed?" and the father replies "I do." The bride then joins her groom and the father sits down.

ok travis, I forgot the priest in my explanations. thank you !
So miss Muffet was given away in marriage by her father. It's said for the bride.
What about the groom's father ? what did he say then ?
" I'm going to my son's wedding " or something else ?

The groom's father plays no part in the ceremony. He simply goes to the wedding like everyone else.

Isee, travis, thank you. so, it's the same thing everywhere.
