Je reviens sur la phrase 7 de notre ami pour lui préciser de suivre les propositions plus 'éveillées de aimen.
- As far as : a aussi le sens de 'autant que' et n'est pas toujours réservé à l'expression de la distance. Voici des exemples :
1- as far as I can judge ...autant que je puisse en juger.
2- as far as I know : autant que je sache
- As long as :-> as long as you leave me alone : du moment que vous me laissez tranquille.
=> En ce qui concerne la phrase 7 : Il vaut mieux si j'en juge par le sens s'en référer à la proposition d'aimen => 'Il n'est pas mauvais d'intervenir dans le milieu naturel, pourvu que ce soit fait pour le bien de l'humanité/ du moment qu'il s'agit du bien de l'humanité.
=> La nuance est étroite mais elle est! Personnellement j'avais pensé ce matin que l'on pouvait dire : 'd'autant que c'est fait pour le bien de l'humanité', ce qui est un peu naïf !

En effet la nuance est mince entre "as far as" et "as long as", mais tu as plus de mérite que moi car tu as répondu spontanément, moi j'ai du faire des vérifications avant de m'avancer
, et puis j'ai posté vers 13 h mais je n'étais pas aussi éveillée pour autant
.Pour la 7 , j'aurais bien vu aussi "provided that", mais bon ça n'était pas proposé dans le multiple choice questions.
