Message de mama165 posté le 11-03-2018 à 11:37:40 (S | E | F)
Bonjour,
Voici la consigne de mon exercice: make a presentation on a song, movie extract or poem dealing with Carpe Diem.
J'ai choisi de faire un pargraphe sur un extrait de film. Pouvez-vous m'aider s'il vous plait?
Par avance, merci de votre aide.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

This movie tells the story of a different man who doesn't grow old like everybody. In fact, he was born old and he is very frail, so he has to stay in his house. But he is very curious and he escapes from his house.
Benjamin Burton sees life from another point of view. He has something unique which is at the same time a burden and an unmentionable gift.
I have chosen this movie because I have seen it. It's a good way to give an important message: it says that we have to seize the days in spite of difference, age or disease. Benjamin takes advantage of his life lived upside down to make the most of happiness without worrying about the past or the future. So, the moment Benjamin enjoys life to the fullest is when his body and his "real" age are in perfect symbiosis ... But Benjamin has always seen the good side of life and each of his meetings. This movie leads to a real reflection on life so the principal question is: wouldn't time be a set of relationship and of adventures which takes forward man in the progress of his existence?
But it is not only his life that makes him unique, love makes him all the more special. Love is what brings Benjamin and Daisy together in spite of the difference which separate them, they always see themselves in each other.
Benjamin will die in a young body but his spirit will be more enriched than ever thanks to his incredible life which is not so different from ours: he was born and died like everyone else.

Bonjour,

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

This movie tells the story of a different man who doesn't grow old like everybody. In fact, he was born old and he is very frail, so he has to stay in his house. But he is very curious and he escapes from his house.
Benjamin Burton (spelling) sees life from another point of view. He has something unique which is at the same time a burden and an unmentionable gift.
I have chosen this movie because I have seen it. It's a good way to give an important message: it says that we have to seize the days in spite of difference, age or disease (difference is too generic to go with age and disease which are specific). Benjamin takes advantage of his life lived upside down to make the most of happiness without worrying about the past or the future. So, the moment Benjamin enjoys life to the fullest is when his body and his "real" age are in perfect symbiosis ... But Benjamin has always seen the good side of life and each of his meetings (what meetings?? ses réunions?? (encounters with others??). This movie leads to a real reflection on life so the principal question is: wouldn't time be a set of relationship (pluriel) and of adventures which takes forward man (takes man forward) in the progress of his existence?
But it is not only his life that makes him unique, love makes him all the more special. Love is what brings Benjamin and Daisy together in spite of the difference which separate (the difference is singular...so the conjugation should be different) them, they always see themselves in each other.
Benjamin will die in a young body but his spirit will be more enriched than ever thanks to his incredible life which is not so different from ours: he was born and died like everyone else.

Excellent. Bravo.

Bonjour,

votre texte est plutôt bon, mais "I have chosen this movie because I have seen it" n'est pas une raison très convaincante. Je vous suggère d'enlever cette phrase qui n'apporte rien et de continuer par "This movie is a good way ...

Bonjour,

Aussi: Tu as écrit "Seize the days"...je dirais "seize the day" même si tu parles de chaque jour/ plusieurs jours...carpe diem veut dire "seize the day".

Bonjour,
Le texte est-il correct ainsi?
Merci de votre aide

Hello
Very good!

...it says that we have to seize the day in spite of difference like age or disease.

Love is what brings Benjamin and Daisy together in spite of the difference which separates them...

A mon avis nous avons plusieurs differences surtout quand tu dit age or disease (deux différences)...je mettrais "difference" au pluriel dans ces phrases. ...the differences which separate them"

...he was born and died like everyone else.

une petite chose pour l'oreille...je ne sais pas si c'est une règle grammaticale... to be born. To die. parce que on n'utilise pas "to be" avec "to die" je te conseille le suivant:

...he was born and he died like everyone else.

with a life in between!
