Je voudrais savoir si l'expression : There exists est correcte. Je l'emploie en statistique par exemple pour dire : There exists a new model or there exist solutions.

Bonjour,
Je crois que l'on emploie la tournure "there " avec "be" pour parler de la présence ou de l'absence de quelque chose ou de quelqu'un.
Il y a un chien dans le jardin==> There 's a dog in the garden
Dans ce cas-ci, j'utiliserais plutôt " There is a new model." Pour employer le verbe "exist" Il faudrait dire ."It exists a new model"
Mais on verra ce qu'en disent les anglophones.

Hi there,
iry43 is right in that you only usually use 'there' with the verb 'to be', but 'there exists' is also acceptable, but I'd advise you to avoid it as it doesn't sound very natural.
It would be:
There exists + singular noun
There exist + plural noun
(never 'it exists + noun')
So, for your example, it would be 'there exists a new model', but an English speaker wouldn't say that.
You could switch the order round to make 'a new model' the subject if you really want to use the verb 'to exist': 'a new model exists', but other than that, I'd say that you should really use the verb 'to be', simply 'there is new model'.

"There is a new model" or "There exists a new model" is correct.
"It exists a new model" is incorrect; "exist" is not a transitive verb, it may only take a predicate nominative (as do "be" and "become").
"There is/are" is the translation of "Il y a"; "there exist(s)" is the translation of "il existe (+ nom)".
