J'aimerai juste savoir, laquelle de ces deux (ou aucune !) formulation est exacte ?
He got the idea of placing two wooden boxes on the ramps of the gymnasium.
Ou
He got the idea of placing two wooden boxes on the gymnasium's ramps.

Personnellement je dirais "of the" ... Le génitif est la relation entre un possesseur et la possession, le gymnase n'est pas un possesseur.

The gymnasium has ramps : donc, on peut dire "the gymnasium's ramps".

I agree with bridg here. A gymnasium isn't a person, therefore the tendency is to prefer "of" rather than the genitive. (Although technically both are correct.)
