China and education

The article I chose is entilted "How China is winning the school race".
It comes from BBC website.
It was published on October 11th 2011 on the business section. This article was written by Yojana Sharma, who is the Asia director at University World News.
Lien Internet

To start with, this report is about China's education performance. According to the results of the PISA (Project for International Student Assessment)[which is an international test held worldwide every three years], Shanghai came top in maths, science and reading tests. As for Hong Kong, it came fourth in reading, second in maths and third in science. We can note that chinese children are undoubtedly leading on test scores.
These amazing results are a good proof that China's education system is outperforming many more advanced countries.

This situation is due to several factors :
First, as we may know, there is a very important competitiveness between students in China. For example, a majority of Shanghai's older secondary students spend three or four hours each day on their homework under close parental supervision. Indeed, in China, a lot of parents (especially mothers) are devoted to their children's education. Besides, there is a specific expression for this kind of parents which is " tiger mothers". So we can assert that there is a big social pressure for chinese's students.

Then, this article explain to us if education system of Shanghai and Hong Kong is so efficient, it's because the government reequips constantly classrooms and leans on new technologies using interactive teaching methods and computers.

Finally, these two chinese cities recruit teachers from the top 30% of the graduate cohort, in other words " the cream of the cream in China"
Nevertheless, the educational level isn't the same in all China. For instance, about 80% of Shanghai school leavers go to the university compared to an overall average of 24% in China.

To conclude, I have chosen this article because, I think every student in the world is concerned by th necessity to succeed. However, to my mind, this pressure is more important in countries like China than in France for exemple.

Merci pour vos réponses et votre aide..

bonjour,

voici des pistes de correction

"The article I chose is entilted "How China is winning the school race".
It comes from ( il manque un article ici) BBC website.
It was published on October 11th 2011 on ( préposition) the business section. This article was written by Yojana Sharma, who is the Asia (il faudrait l'adjectif ) director at University World News.

To start with, this report is about China's education performance. According to the results of the PISA (Project for International Student Assessment)[which is an international test held worldwide every three years], Shanghai came top in maths, science and reading tests ( les disciplines prennent une majuscule en principe) . As for Hong Kong, it came fourth in reading, second in maths and third in science (idem) .

So we can assert that there is a big social pressure for chinese's (majuscules aux nationalités) students.

Then, this article explain ( conjugaison) to us if education system of Shanghai and Hong Kong is so efficient, it's because ( un peu calqué sur le français, je tournerais la phrase autrement) the government reequips( voc) constantly classrooms and leans on new technologies using interactive teaching methods and computers.

Finally, these two chinese (majuscules aux nationalités) cities recruit teachers from the top 30% of the graduate cohort, in other words " the cream of the cream in China"
Nevertheless, the educational level isn't the same in all (All n'est pas adapté ici) China. For instance, about 80% of Shanghai school leavers go to the (article inutile, on renvoit à l'institution ici) university compared to an overall average of 24% in China.

To conclude, I have chosen this article because, I think every student in the world is concerned by the necessity to succeed. However, to my mind, this pressure is more important in countries like China than in France for exemple ( orthographe) ."

voilà, en somme pas grand chose!
Amicalement
Bulsara
