Bonjour,
Je vous remercie d'avance du travail effectué c'est super. Je suis désolé si c'est un peu brouillon, ma partie est peut-être hors sujet mais je tiens à la mettre.

Space and exchanges
Before I start, I’d like to define what spaces and exchanges mean.
This notion deals with the geographical and symbolic areas that all societies occupy. Now the different cultural, economic and language interactions have shaped.
People and nations thanks to this evolution, now keep on borrowing the languages and cultures of other peoples and nations.
Why so many people want to travel and emigrate all around the world?

First of all, I’m going to explain through the example of the American dream that people think they could improve their quality of life when they travel.
After, I’ll show that sometimes people want to escape their country for religious reasons.
Then, as my teacher advises me I’ll explain through my own experience of the Comenius project that travelling could be a good way to learn other languages and to be open-minded.

I want to share with you the definition given in 1931 by James Truslow Adams to define the American dream. He said: ”there should be an opportunity for everyone according to ability or achievement regardless of social class or circumstances of birth”. That’s how he thought the American dream should be. To make it short, it is possible to climb the social ladder when you work hard.

The American was very powerful in the past, as we can see in the song by Bruce Springsteen that we studied in the class.
It shows the reasons why immigrants came to this land of opportunity. They could find a job and make their home in a new country. His vision of the US is idealized. Because he says for example “there’s diamond in the sidewalk” or “beer flows through the faucets”.
He explained that to reach this land of opportunity you have to work hard and you can succeed even if you live in dire straits, in a desperate situation.

People can travel because they want to find a land which accepted them for who they’re. For example, the American Dream says that everyone can succeed regardless of his religion or his origins. For example, the Pilgrim Fathers came to America because they were persecuted for religious reasons. Indeed, they were Puritans and the English church is protestant. In America, they found a land which accepted for who they’re.

There are some other examples of men who went from rags to riches and became famous and successful. For example, John D. Rockefeller who started from scratches and set up “the standard oil company” which is now worldwide famous.
For example, Oprah Winfrey has had a difficult past but she managed to overcome her difficulties. Now she has your own talk show

To conclude, I can say that travelling can be a good way to learn other languages and to open his mind to other cultures. I can take my example to prove it. I chose to participate to an European project called “Comenius project”. I had to interview a singer about the issue of downloading which is a burning issue nowadays. Then, I presented this work in the Netherlands to many other students from different places of Europe like Germany, Hungary, and Poland. This was very interesting and help me a lot to learn English.
