Bonjour,
j'ai un oral d'anglais à préparer sur un dossier fourni. 3 documents, The Crucible d'Arthur Miller, The Scarlet Letter de Nathaniel Howthorne et une caricature représentant des colons arrivant en Amérique disant que tout est désordonné mais qu'ils vont tout remettre en ordre. J'ai donc placé ces documents dans la notion de "lieux et formes de pouvoir", voici mon intro :

The concept that I will discuss today is the notion of seats and forms of power. For that I will first define the concept. First the power allows the establishment of a political, social and personal order at the heart of a group, but also generates tensions, conflicts and against powers. To demonstrate that authority imposed, I'm going to talk about the Puritanism. Puritanism is a theological doctrine imposed by the settlers during the American colonization. So we going to deal with throught three documents. The first one is an extract of The Crucible by Arthur Miller wrote in 1953, a second extract, this one from the book of Nathaniel Howthorne, The Scarlet Letter and to finish a caricature of the settlers arriving in America, how the Puritans have upset the seventeenth-century America. First we will see how they have imposed their power then we will show how they have impeded the dignity and freedoms of colonized people.

Pouvez-vous me dire si ça tient la route c'est correct et surtout si j'ai bien formulé.

The first one is an extract of The Crucible by Arthur Miller wrote in 1953;, a second extract, this one is from the book of Nathaniel Howthorne(orth. a verifier), The Scarlet Letter and to finish a caricature of the settlers arriving in America, how the Puritans have upset (temps?)the seventeenth-century America. First we will see how they have (temps)imposed their power then we will show how they have(temps) impeded (utiliser un autre verbe) the dignity and freedoms(singulier) of colonized people.

Merci pour votre réponse. Alors "against power" pour moi c'est "contre pouvoir" peut-être me suis-je trompée.
Pourquoi avez-vous mis le "of" en bleu ? Est-ce faux ? Même question pour "wrote"
Pour le nom de l'auteur je me suis trompée en recopiant, c'est Hawthorne, merci
Quel temps devrais-je mettre pour les verbes ? Et pourquoi dois-je changer "impened" ? Dois-je mettre "hampered" plutôt ?

Bonjour..
'Resistance' irait mieux que "against powers" (un peu trop francais)
'from' The Crucible pas 'of'..
to write - le participe passé est 'written' pas 'wrote'
Les verbes- utiliser le prétérit pour les actions qui ont eu lieu dans le passé et sont maintenant terminé. Le passe compose ne convient pas.
'hampered' est Ok, ou damaged, affected, undermined etc.

Une dernière question, du coup pour les verbes je n'ai pas à mettre "have" , je met juste le verbe avec "-ed" ?
