Bac/Spaces and exchanges
Message de meri89 posté le 20-04-2016 à 15:04:28 (S | E | F)
Hello,
comme beaucoup d'étudiants je passe l'oral d'anglais prochainement et je ne suis pas totalement sûre de quelques petites choses:- la longueur du texte - l'orthographe/grammaire - la suite logique - l'intro.
Merci pour votre aide.

I am going to deal with the notion "Spaces and Exchanges". To begin with I would like to give a definition of this notion which cope with the geographical and symbolic areas that all societies occupy and the interactions between men and different societies. Our world is built on the exploration and conquest of new spaces. The different cultural, economic, sociological and language interactions have shaped and characterised our modern-day world. Indeed we studied how does Hispanics immigration in the US exemplify the notion of "Spaces and Exchanges" We will illustrate this notion by the exemple of mexican's immigration to the US.

I'm going to deal with the notion Spaces and exchanges. To begin with, I'd like to give a definition of exchange. The different spaces of the world are nowadays more and more connected to each other. The exchanges can appear on many forms: people, trade, information . The immigration is linked to this notion. Indeed we studied how Hispanics immigration
in the US exemplifiy the notion of "Spaces and Exchanges" We will illustrate this notion by the exemple of mexican's immigration to the US.

Mexico and the US are neighbouring countries. First of all I will bring forward the links and differences between these two countries. Mexico and the US are separated by a border, called "La Linea" which is a mexican term. La Linea is 1951 miles long. It streches from Tijuana to the Gulf of Mexico. La Linea snakes over mountains, deserts, and along rivers. This border is a place of hope, dreams but this place is also beguiling and overwhilming. This border shows the difference between the US and the countrie of Mexico. The US is the world largest economy wheras mexican's people are in bad living condition and massives of them are in dire straits. The economic situation of Mexico explains that a lots of them immigrate to the US. Poor people try to accross the border because they believe in the American way of life. This created a movement of trade between these two spaces. The immigration will have a strong influence on the US.

Hispanics people are 53 Millions in the US. I am going to introduce you by the testimony of a women who immigrated from Mexico to the US when she was younger, the impact of immigration and what it allows. There are many reasons why people decide to immigrate to a new country: education, jobs, family but the main reasons is economic opportunity. They are often from rural areas and have no money. Most of them come with the intention of staying few years, save and return to their country. They are two main reasons that people have to cope with: the language barriere and the lack of education.
Although it is not easy to become accustumed to life in a new country, Mexicans in California tend to be luckier than most because there are so many living there already. There are mexican supermarkets, signs and services available in Spanish. It is not uncommun to find people who have been living in the US for many years and still don't speak english because they live in primarily spanish-speaking areas. A true hispanics communauty has created in the US, each communauty bring his culture and share it.

This exchange of cultures allowed the emergence of a new language. In class we studied various illustrating the influence of the Hispanics. Some of them are advert for drink, people in it looks attractives, they smiling broadly. Yet the most striking thing about these visuals is that the slogan is not in English as should be expected but in a mixture of english and spanish. This mixture is called Spanglish. So it is obvious this ad is clearly targeted at a bilingual spanish and english audience. The fact that we can see posters in Spanish shows the influence of Spanish over the english language in states where the latinos community prevails. Spanglish is a consequence os the American salad bowl, since it is shows that latinos are strongly integrated into a multicultural society.

To conclude, we can say that the hispanics influence has allowed to created exchanges and did the US a multicultured country. For instance: each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from latinos countries. During this month people of US recognize the contributions made and the important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States. This shows the importance of the exchanges of these two community, these two spaces.

voilà, je crains qu'il soit trop long.. merci à vous!
